BIO | Kim Lowe | DIRECTOR | PHOTOGRAPHER
Being an Art Director when I first started my career,
then a Photographer the past 15 years and now a Director the past five years has
given me a unique perspective on the industry we’re in. Knowing these different
roles first hand makes me a better collaborator as well as a stronger partner to your
creative process.
Also, I know where my strengths as a shooter and storyteller are. I’m not trying to
shoot everything. I specialize in kids and families because that’s where my energy and
passion fit. I hope you can feel that in the work you’ve seen here on my site. Nothing is
forced or posed. I capture real play. I capture authentic childhood.
And I don’t just connect with kids — I connect with them AND I capture their energy on film.
I have their energy so I know their energy. I move with them to capture real play, real joy, real
emotion. I get right into their world. Whether the camera’s in my hand or my DP’s, we’re
handheld so we can fully capture that energy and emotion.
Most often now I’m actually using all the roles as AD, Photographer and Director all at once
for each project. I’m directing a tv commercial or online content, shooting stills, and even
capturing little moments with my iPhone for gifs or other interesting content for clients.
I’m rarely asked to do one thing only. And I like that. It makes every project all the more fun!
We work hard on my shoots but we also have fun. I believe the best creative comes from a
set where people are feeling good and feeling happy. Let me bring that to your project.
